HSP Seminar no.154 Fukushima and the Human Security

This seminar is among the Series of Seminars on the Aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Human Security. At this 2nd seminar on Fukushima, we will have a lecture from Mr Toru Shima, the president of the Gensosha Publishers. Working as the president of a publishing company, he was deeply concerned about what happened in Fukushima. Using his skills as a ex-journalist, he conducted his own research on Fukushima and published a book from his own company. In the lecture, he is planning to discuss about a sense of incongruence which he felt on the concept of Human Security when it is related to the disaster at Fukushima after the 3.11.

HSP Seminar no.153 Fukushima, Iidate, nevertheless the world is so beautiful

This is the 16th seminar of the series of HSP Seminars on the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Human Security. We will ask Ms. Mari Kobayashi, a farmer of Iidate village to provide us a lecture about what she thinks about the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Her observation and thoughts are already published as a book by Akashi-Shoten in Japanese. Listening to her story, we would like to have a free discussion about her viewpoints and what we should think and act on this issue.

HSP Seminar no.151 How Did Victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake Come to Tackle on Reconstruction?: A Case of Tome-city in Miyagi-prefecture

This is the 15th seminar of the series of HSP Seminars on the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Human Security. Mr. Tadafumi Matsubara, a citizen of Tome-city in Miyagi-prefecture, will talk about his experience on supporting the refugees from Minamisanriku-cho where the Earthquake and tsunami brought severe damage.
