HSP Seminar no.105 (HSP-CDR Seminar no.13) ADB and Human Rights: Discussion on 2010 Annual Meeting

ADB is composed of member countries from Asia, the Pacific, Europe and North America. This is the largest institution operating in the field of development in Asia and the Pacific, and it has a considerable influence on the lives of a great number of people. Some ADB’s projects are criticised because of their negative effect on people’s human rights. At the same time, it has been improving its policies which are necessary for the protection of affected people’s human rights. In general ADB’s attitude to human rights discussion is not as well developed as that of the World Bank.
