Descriptions | Rick Barton, the last deputy to Sadako Ogata of UNHCR, pioneered, throughout his career at the USAID, State Department, the CSIS, and Princeton University, in how to prevent, shorten, mitigate, emerge from and rebuild after conflicts. Embodying the America the world used to know, he provides unique answers to compelling questions: How has the United States engaged in world conflict zones? Why should we? Topics could include: global hot spots; changes in Washington and American political challenges; multilateral diplomacy; institutional reforms and senior leadership of complex institutions; measuring progress in conflict settings; and his book, Peace Works – America’s Unifying Role in a Turbulent World (link) |
